Outdoor Skills & Safety

Safety may not be the first thing on your mind when you, your family and friends head outdoors to bike, paddle, hike or picnic. Yet you need to be prepared for anything when heading outdoors. Five Rivers MetroParks strives to be a regional leader in outdoor education by offering courses in wilderness first aid, outdoor ethics and land navigation.

MetroParks Safety Tips

Five Rivers MetroParks protects natural and cultural environments. Your planning, alertness and respect will help ensure safe visits to the parks. However, safety cannot be guaranteed when outdoors because hazards are inevitable elements in our natural environment. To help avoid unsafe situations when visiting a park, please use common sense, and respect the natural and cultural resources.
