Winter Leagues
BroomballThose who are into something a bit more competitive should check out our winter leagues! Starting in January, MetroParks Ice Rink will play host to a curling league as well as competitive and recreational broomball leagues.

Broomball is a team sport where players wear shoes rather than skates, and use a “broom” (a stick shaped like a broom) to move the ball around the ice and score goals. Rules and strategies are similar to those of ice hockey. Signups for Broomball begin October 7 and registration is $290 per team. To register your team, visit

Want to play an Olympic sport? Grab some friends and sign up for our brand new Curling League! This team sport involves sliding heavy, granite stones across the ice towards a marked target while your teammates sweep the ice with brooms to alter its path. Curling is accessible to all physical skill levels and no experience is required. Signups for Curling begins October 7 and registration is $360 per team. Visit to learn more and to register your team.

For more information about the ice rink, call the skate office at (937) 278-2607.
