Celebrate Celiac Awareness Month at the 2nd Street Market with These Gluten-Friendly Vendors

May is Celiac Disease Awareness Month. Celiac disease is an illness caused by an immune system reaction in the small intestine to eating gluten – a protein found in foods containing wheat, barley or rye.

Over time, this reaction damages your small intestine’s lining and prevents it from absorbing nutrients, a condition called malabsorption. It also can lead to serious complications if not managed or treated. There is no cure for celiac disease.

This month is dedicated to amplifying the conversation about advancing diagnoses, treatments and a cure for celiac disease. We’re helping raise awareness by highlighting the following 2nd Street Market vendors that offer gluten-friendly food.
