Sunset at the Market and More this June at 2nd Street Market

Sunset at the Market

The third Sunset at the Market, on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30, is dedicated to community, inclusion, outreach and the arts. In addition to our indoor Market vendors, the evening will also host a vibrant outdoor Market, including electric vehicles with Drive Electric Dayton, and the Word’s Faire Art Bazaar in the Market’s pavilion.

The Word’s Faire, a new local indie publishing company, will be celebrating their founding with an Arts Bazaar aimed to celebrate and display the diverse, inclusive talents of Dayton’s artistic and literary communities while also supporting local arts education through the Stivers Seedling Foundation. This evening will feature live music in the east dining room performed by the Stivers Jazz Band, fun chalk art for kids of all ages and spoken word performances including headliner poet Leroy D. Bean.

In addition to the Arts Bazaar, there will be several community organizations represented in both the indoor and outdoor Markets. Dayton Live, The National Conference for Community & Justice of Greater Dayton (NCCJ) Mobile Opportunity CenterGreater Dayton LBGT Center, Miami Valley Meals, Dayton Unit NAACP, Beyond Vision Art, and Drive Electric Dayton will be sharing their organization’s inclusion missions, how their work benefits the community you live in, upcoming programs and events, and information on how you can become involved.

New Vendor Highlight: Sweet Emmy Herbal

Join us in welcoming the Market’s new permanent vendor Pat Frock of Sweet Emmy Herbals

Sweet Emmy Herbals is a small, local company dedicated to providing high quality herbal tea and herbs at an affordable price. All the herbs and flowers are sustainably grown without chemicals or are organically procured. Many of the herbs are grown on Pat’s own farm or locally & responsibly foraged. Pat started at the Market as an outside vendor in 2023 where she garnered a loyal following for her delicious teas.

Pat has made it her mission to help as many people as possible begin or advance their herbal journey.  She believes all herbalists must pass along their knowledge and welcomes conversation. You can find Sweet Emmy Herbals at the east end of the market near the east dining room entrance, across from Studio Regina Glass.
